 Vingroup JSC, Vietnam’s largest conglomerate, plans to list its automobile manufacturing unit on the U.S. stock market late next year and raise at least $3 billion. More at Reuters. 

 A decision on the future of Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess, previously expected by the end of the week, could be delayed for another three weeks or more, insiders say. More at U.S. News & World Report Money. 

+   Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced via Twitter that the first production edition of the upcoming Cybertruck will be equipped with four motors and four-wheel steering. More at The Detroit News. 

 Lewis Hamilton survived two collisions with Max Verstappen to win the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, setting up a title showdown between the two at the season finale in Abu Dhabi. More at the UK Guardian.  

 Two of the largest tire retailers in the USA have joined forces as Arizona-based Discount Tire agreed to acquire The Tire Rack in South Bend, Indiana effective Dec. 31. More at The Drive. 

+   Mercedes USA has dropped the Mercedes-AMG A 35 from the U.S. product lineup for 2022, presumably due to poor sales, although no official reason was announced. More at Autoblog. 

+   General Motors and POSCO Chemical announced plans to create a joint venture that will include the construction of a new plant to process materials for Ultium battery cells. More at Autoweek. 

+   Ford has launched a recall campaign for 115,000 vehicles, mainly Escape and Bronco Sport models from the 2022 model year, to correct a rear brake lining defect. More at Motor Illustrated. 

+   RM Sotheby’s Arizona auction on January 27 will feature a number of high-end European sports cars and exotics, including cars from a noted single-owner collection. More at ClassicCars.com Journal. 

+   For the fourth consecutive year, NASCAR fans have voted Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott the sport’s most popular driver, an award frequently won by his father, Bill Elliott. More at Jayski.
