 Reportedly, Apple is moving forward with self-driving car technology and is targeting 2024 to produce a passenger vehicle that could include unique battery technology. More at Reuters.  

 Hyundai’s consumer website in Austria leaked key specifications for the 2022 Ioniq 5 electric crossover, including a range of 280 miles and a 5.2-scond 0-62 mph time. More at Car and Driver. 

+   A U.S. regulator ruled that Mahindra and Mahindra’s redesigned Roxor off-road vehicle does not infringe on the trade dress of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Jeep Wrangler. More at the Toledo Blade. 

+  Formula 1 chief executive Chase Carey says the series is in “substantive discussions” with Amazon to offer web streaming of events on Amazon Prime. More at Planet F1. 

 Ford has set up a facility to correct defects on early production F-150 pickups at a site near the company’s Flat Rock assembly plant, reportedly using contract labor. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 The city council in Carmel, California has acted to limit Monterey Car Week events there to two: the Concours on the Avenue and the Pebble Beach tour lunch stop. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 The Fiat brand will be down to just one vehicle in the United States, the 500X crossover, after cutting the 500L sedan and 124 Spider roadster from its 2021 lineup. More at The Detroit News. 

 Featured attractions at the Artcurial Parisienne 2021 auction on February 5 will include the 1972 Le Mans-winning Matra MS 670 and a 1957 Porsche 550 A Spyder. More at Sports Car Digest. 

 Volkswagen has ended production of the e-Golf electric hatchback at its Transparent Factory in Dresden, which will now switch to the ID.3 electric in the next few weeks. More at Autoweek.
