 Tesla hopes to produce the first vehicles at its gigafactory in Gruenheide, Germany,  southeast of Berlin, in October or soon afterwards, CEO Elon Musk announced. More at Reuters.

+   According to data from the website iSeecars, the Chevrolet Corvette returned to the top spot as fastest-selling car in the USA in July, moving off dealer lots in only seven days. More at iSeeCars.  

+   Revenue at China-based electric vehicle maker Nio surged more than 127 percent over last year to $1.31 billion, narrowing losses and exceeding analysts’ estimates. More at CNBC. 

 Front Row Motorsports and 23XI Racing, the NASCAR team co-owned by Michael Jordan, are rumored to be working on a deal for 23Xi to run two Cup cars next year. More at Jayski. 

+   The Rimac Nevera battery-electric GT has claimed the unofficial title of world’s quickest production car in the quarter-mile with an ET of 8.582 seconds at 167.51 mph. More at Autoblog. 

  Acura revealed that the Integra name, introduced in 1986 and then discontinued in the United States in 2001, will be revived, but it has released no info on the car yet. More at The Drive. 

+   Stellantis is recalling more than 266,000 pickup trucks mainly in North America because the side air bags can explode without warning and hurl shrapnel into the cabin. More at The Detroit News.

 Bugatti confirmed it will produce 40 examples of the Bolide, the 1824-horsepower track car that the company unveiled last year, with a price tag of around $4.7 million. More at CNET Roadshow. 

+   Spa-Francorchamps circuit director Nathalie Maillet, 51, was killed in what police have described as a double murder-suicide in her Luxembourg home, allegedly by her husband. More at Motorsport.com.

  1. Rich folks must be getting off that old musty money in their wallets and spending it before taxes go up and they lose it to the Govt. Not many average folks gonna be buying $80,000 Corvettes….
