 Electric truck maker Rivian Automotive is now forecasting a greater operating loss of $5.45 billion for the year, but did manage to exceed revenue estimates for the second quarter. More at Reuters .

+   IMG, the sports, entertainment, and events management giant that was acquired by WME to form Endeavor, has purchased a majority stake in auction house Barrett-Jackson. More at ClassicCars.com Journal.

+   Ford announced it is increasing its prices on the F-150 Lightning electric pickup between $6000 and $8500 as next year’s order books open for the hot-selling vehicles. More at Car and Driver. 

+   At Honda, North American sales are down 40 percent over last year, as CIvic sales tumbled 67.4 percent and HR-V sales fell 70 percent, while net income slipped 33 percent. More at The Drive. 

+   General Motors has made the OnStar connectivity service a mandatory purchase on some Buick, GMC, and Cadillac models, effectively raising their list prices by $1500. More at The Detroit News. 

+   A Porsche Taycan driven by factory development driver Lars Kern has broken the lap record for production EVs at the Nürburgring with a time or 7 minutes and 33 seconds. More at Autoweek. 

+   Ford is celebrating the launch of the orignal Bronco in 1966 with two new retro-styled versions of the 2023 Ford Bronco and 2023 Ford Bronco Sport that will go on sale in 2023. More at Motor Authority.
