+   Ford announced it will delay the launch of a three-row electric SUV in Canada and production of its next-generation electric pickup in Tennessee as it shifts its focus to hybrids. More at Reuters. 

 BMW confirmed it will offer the next-generation M5 Touring station wagon, which is expected to hare the 738 hp plug-in-hybrid V-8 powertrain of the XM, in the United States. More at Car and Driver. 

 Buick unveiled the 2024 Envision crossover with standard all-wheel drive, a 30-inch instrument panel display that stretches across the dash, and a base price of $37,295. More at Autoblog. 

 Penske Entertainment is getting closer to presenting IndyCar team owners with the final version of its first team charter program, similar in concept to the NASCAR equity plan. More at Racer. 

 The American Automobile Association (AAA) is predicting a heavy travel weekend in advance of the April 8 solar eclipse, with hotel and rental car bookings already impacted. More at Autoweek. 

 Volvo Cars sold a record 78,970 vehicles in March, its best single month in history, boosted by the launch of its fully electric small SUV, the Swedish automaker reported. More at World Auto Forum. 

+   Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the automaker is increasing the compensation packages for its artificial intelligence software engineers to reduce poaching from other AI developers. More at The Detroit News. 

+   General Motors reported a 1.5 percent decline in first-quarter U.S. vehicle sales compared to a year ago, which the automaker attributed to an annual decline in fleet sales. More at CNBC. 

 Hemmings will expand its Musclepalooza event to four venues in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona, and Florida in 2024 with stock-appearing muscle-car drag racing and other activities. More at Hemmings. 

+   Richard Childress Racing has named Justin Alexander to replace Keith Rodden as crew chief on the NASCAR Cup Chevrolet driven by Austin Dillon, while Joel Keller will be lead engineer. More at NBC Sports.
