The Detroit Grand Prix takes place this weekend, but unfortunately, MCG won’t be there. Business takes us elsewhere in the Motor City. Still, we couldn’t resist taking a brief look in, here in the form of a lap around the Belle Isle road course with Johnny O’Connell in his Cadillac CTS-V coupe.

How quick is O’Connell, a four-time class winner at LeMans, at Belle Isle? Quick enough to win both Pirelli World Challenge races at Detroit in 2012. And quick enough to win the pole for the first Pirelli Speed World Challenge Cadillac V-Series Challenge (this series needs a shorter name) feature on Saturday with a lap of 1:33.592.  So you’d better hang on—video below.
