+   Japan’s Denso Corporation will invest $1 billion in expanding its Marysville, Tennessee plant to manufacture components for electrified, connected, and self-driving cars. More at The Detroit News.

+   Tesla will delay the debut of its electric big rig to focus on production snags with the Tesla 3 and assist in the rebuilding of Puerto Rico’s devastated power grid, said CEO Elon Musk. More at Autoblog. 

+   Mitsubishi is recalling 66,001 Lancer models from the 2004-2006 model years for a second time to again replace their defective Takata airbag inflators. More at MLive. 

+   Global automakers including Ford, GM, and Volkswagen took to social media to voice their support for women in Saudi Arabia, who were recently granted driving rights. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 37,461 people were killed on U.S. roads in 2016, an increase of 5.6 percent over the previous year. More at Motor Trend.

    I’m sure it’s for the reasons stated and not because Elon’s mouth was bigger than his brain, as was the case with the Model 3 and Model X.

    > an increase of 5.6 percent over the previous year

    They should have a switch that switches off the airbags when the cell phone is receiving.
