+   NASCAR has announced its Hall of Fame inductees for 2018, elected by a 54-member panel: Robert Yates, Red Byron, Ray Evernham, Ken Squier, and Ron Hornaday Jr. More at Fox Sports. 

+   As anticipated, the U.S. Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for allegedly building and selling diesel trucks that violated emissions standards. More at USA Today. 

+   Production of the V8, rear-drive Chevrolet SS has officially ended at the General Motors Holden plant in Australia, as a black-on-black stick-shift sedan was the last to roll off the line. More at Autoblog. 

+   Geely of China has acquired majority ownership of famed British sports car maker Lotus, along with a minority stake in its parent company Proton. More at BBC News.

+   Jaguar’s Special Operations Division has unveiled the 600-horsepower XE SE V8, which will be offered in a limited run of only 300 units worldwide. More at Automobile.
