Today’s Headlines: 

 The Motor City’s automakers reported lackluster sales in January, with Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles posting declines and General Motors marking a slight uptick. More at The Detroit News. 

+   German labor union IG Metall threatened to cripple vehicle production at Volkswagen Group as its wage dispute with the automaker intensifies. More at Automotive News Europe. 

 Carmakers that try to cheat vehicle emissions tests could face unlimited fines and criminal charges under proposals set out this week by the British government. More at Reuters. 

 Formula 1 series officials announced that European races will start at least one hour later in the 2018 season, and that all events will start at ten minutes past the hour. More at Sky Sports. 

 The Dutch company PAL-V will officially debut its $400,000 Liberty flying car at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2019. More at Motor Trend. 

+   Ford China CEO and chairman Jason Luo, who was appointed only five months ago, has resigned from the company for undisclosed reasons, effective immediately. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   Unable to craft a viable business plan, the directors of Hostetler’s Hudson Museum in Shipshewana, Indiana have voted to close the facility and sell the collection. More at Hemmings Daily. 

 Honda plans to revive the Passport badge, last used from 1994 through 2002, for a new two-row crossover to be slotted between the current CR-V and Pilot models. More at Autoweek. 

 The Bonhams Spring Stafford Sale at the Staffordshire County Showground will feature the late Miklos Salamon’s collection of 40 rare and exotic vintage motorcycles. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.  

+   Virginia Motorsports Park will take over the NHRA Summernationals national event date recently vacated with the closing of Old Bridge Raceway Park in New Jersey. More at NBC Sports.

  1. Departed friend restored one of these back in the late 80’s. Quite a large bike and other friend did body work on the tank and fenders. Do believe a lot was cast aluminum or something?
