Today’s headlines: 

+   Ford was the only Detroit carmaker to record a sales increase in November, as General Motors slipped 2.9 percent and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reported a 4 percent decline. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Volkswagen AG is reportedly engaged in talks to buy a stake in GAZ, Russian manufacturer of light commercial vehicles, although the terms are yet to be disclosed. More at Reuters.

 California specialty car builder Steve Saleen has unveiled the Saleen 1, a $100,000 sports car based on the former Artega GT with turbocharged four-cylinder power. More at Automobile. 

 Daniel Abt of the Audi Sport team was stripped of his first Formula E victory in Hong Kong when his car failed post-race inspection due to discrepancies with its motors and inverters. More at Motorsport.com. 

+   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is in negotiations with Hyundai of South Korea regarding a technical partnership, but no merger is in the works, says FCA boss Sergio Marchionne. More at Autoblog. 

 To celebrate its manufacturer title in the 2017 IMSA Championship, Cadillac is offering Championship Editions of the ATS-V and CTS-V sedans with special paint and equipment. More at Road & Track.  

+  Consignments at the RM Sotheby’s ICONS sale in New York City on December 6 will include XKC 007, the first Jaguar C-Type imported into the United States in 1952. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   Ford has filed suit against wrestling star and actor John Cena for selling his new 2017 Ford GT for a profit in violation of his purchase agreement with the automaker. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   Former Volkswagen executive Oliver Schmidt, currently awaiting sentencing in Detroit, told the judge he was instructed to lie about the company’s diesel emissions problems. More at Automotive News Europe.

+   IRG Sports + Entertainment announced that former driver and broadcaster Mike Dunn has been moved from president to senior consultant at the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA). More at Racer.

    • Strip out Jeep and Ram and discard the rest. They don’t have a presence in those markets. I know Ferrari was spun off, but FCA must own a piece of it, no?
