2016 Greenfield Village Motor Muster

1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Station Wagon Jim and Dorothy BartishPresenting one of the Motor City’s largest and diverse collector car shows: the annual Motor Muster at Greenfield Village. Here’s a photo essay of this year’s event.

As we like to mention here at Mac’s Motor City Garage, Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan is the ideal location for a collector car show. Historic setting, acres of green lawns for car display, and village streets just made for parading and passing in review: Who could ask for more? We don’t know if that’s at all what Henry Ford had in mind when he founded his historical theme park, but it sure worked out nicely.

The Village hosts two major collector car events each year: the Old Car Festival on Labor Day weekend for vehicles built before 1933, and

the Motor Muster on Father’s Day weekend for vehicles produced between 1933 and 1976. Both shows are weekend-long events with a full slate of activities. (For more info, visit The Henry Ford’s Motor Muster page.) The Motor Muster always hosts an impressive variety of vehicles: domestics and imports, cars, trucks, and motorcycles.  We weren’t able to stick around the Motor Muster for all the festivities, but here’s what we saw during our brief visit on Saturday. 1. It looks like you could have taken 3 times the number of pics. A diverse range of cars, even a Vobble Vagen!

    • Easily. We used to run far more photos in these slide shows, but the page view analytics taught us that people burn out after around 28-30 photos. So where we can, we try to invent angles for multiple event features.
